GLASS WORKSHOPS START 2012 Glass slumping, fusing, jewellery making classes The Cairns Potters Club wishes to announce its new initiative by introducing Community Glass workshops to Cairns. With funding assistance ( $12,800) from Gambling Community Benefit Fund the Club has purchased a large glass kiln and a smaller kiln for jewellery work. This generous funding has enabled the club to also purchase a variety of tools for glass art. From February 2012 it is intended to arrange a series of workshops run by talented Cairns Glass artists Kay Millet, Judy Bohm Parr and Terry Eager. The programs for the courses will be organised to suit the community needs. A primary focus is establishment of a regional ceramic entity, identifying commercial opportunities, while promoting local artists throughout Australia.
